Providing a definitive cost for ISO 14001 certification or any other ISO certification varies. This is because it is based on a number of different factors, such as:
- The number of company sites to be covered by the accreditation – all sites to be included in the final accreditation need to be visited and assessed within the ISO audit cycle and implementation.
- The number of staff employed by the company – typically, the more employees there are, the more processes that may be necessary; but this can vary.
- The ISO accreditations being considered, like ISO 9001 or combining the cost for ISO 9001 and 14001, for example. In most cases, if combining accreditations, there are crossover elements. So, the more you ISO accreditations you implement at the same time, the more cost effective it is long term.
- Existing levels of documentation – if you already have ISO quality processes and procedures in place, these can be utilised or expanded upon if you wish to consider additional ISO accreditations.
- The complexity of ISO audits or internal auditing, and the scope of accreditation required.
